Scholarships for 2022

The Public Education Foundation’s tertiary scholarships, for students currently in Year 12 transitioning to tertiary education next year are now open.

Which scholarships are open?

The Friends of Zainab Tertiary Scholarship is for refugee students currently in Year 12 intending to enter university or TAFE in 2022 to undertake full-time study. This is a national scholarship meaning you can apply no matter what state you’re from. Apply here.

Susan & Isaac Wakil Foundation Scholarships provide financial assistance to high potential students who intend to continue studying full-time either at TAFE or University after finishing their Higher School Certificate in 2021. Open to eligible students in NSW. Find out more…

The Walter and Eliza Hall Trust Opportunity scholarship provides financial assistance in 2022 to students who have a physical disability to assist in their transition into tertiary education to study for a degree. Open to eligible students in ACT, NSW, QLD, TAS & VIC. More info here.

What kind of expenses do these scholarships cover?

The expenses vary between scholarships so head to the Public Education Foundation’s website for specific details. But broadly the scholarships can be used to cover costs such as:

  • Course fees
  • Equipment
  • Face-To-Face Tutoring or Online Tutoring
  • The scholarship is to cover educational expenses such as:
  • Wifi
  • Furniture for study (desk, lamp, chair etc)
  • Transport costs for travel to/from University
  • Laptops or similar electronic devices for study
